A Brief History

The Rogue Valley Equestrian Trails Association (originally Bear Creek Greenway Equestrian Assn.) was formed in 1994 out of a grass roots effort to add a natural surface trail from the Pacific Crest Trail above Ashland, Oregon along the Bear Creek Greenway to the Rogue River. So far we have dedicated nearly 10 miles of equestrian trail in Jackson County, Oregon.

The first trail segment runs from Blackwell Road past Expo Park to Table Rock Road. Facilities include a trailer parking area near Blackwell, picnic area with tables and hitching racks, with trail access at Expo Park, Upton Road, and Pine Street in Central Point.

A second segment of the trail is open between Lynn Newbry Park in Talent, Oregon and Wranglers Arena near the North Ashland exit. There is trailer parking at both ends of this segment.

The Rogue Valley Equestrian Trails Association is actively working with the Medford Parks Department planning the next equestrian segment through Medford.
